Story premise without spoilers

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film Dorothy centers on themes of childhood friendship, the harsh patriarchal structure of rural life, and the search for identity. The story begins with Karthi and Subbu inseparable friends who grow up in an environment plagued by casteism and thuggery.

Then enters the protagonist, Dorothy played by Keerthy Suresh a quiet, kind, and gentle woman. A marriage proposal arrives from Subbu’s family, and following their union, the lives of both characters are transformed. You can likely infer how the narrative shifts with Dorothy’s arrival. What makes the film worth watching?

It is a straightforward, down-to-earth story, but the film is spiced up with drama and crime—a combination that keeps everyone entertained. If you are a fan of crime dramas, this movie is a perfect addition to your watchlist. As the story progresses toward the end, it becomes quite violent, and you might even see some bloodshed all of which makes this an ideal crime drama.
